Starting from May 19, the National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Audit began training for civil servants of categories “A” and “B” from territorial bodies of state statistics under the certificate program for professional development “Statistical Data Processing”. The program aims to enhance participants’ professional competencies in the field of modern statistical methods, statistical production models, SPSS usage, Artificial Intelligence technologies, visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), as well as Big Data implementation in statistical practice.
The Department of Statistics, IT and Mathematical Methods in Economics of NASOA organized and conducted the 5th All-Ukrainian Student Scientific Conference “Digitalization of Society and Business: Challenges and Opportunities for Youth”. Conference moderator: PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Oleksandr Stavytskyi. The student conference brought together students from the National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Audit, the State University of Trade and Economics, and the Professional College of Business and Analytics. Invited guest speakers joined the conference. On February 28, Olena Horobets, Head of the Department of Statistics, IT and Mathematical Methods in Economics, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, participated in a virtual round table “Artificial Intelligence in Education: Global Perspectives and Regional Applications.” The event was specifically organized for representatives of higher education institutions from Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, and Moldova. On February 19, third-year students of the first (bachelor’s) level educational program “Computer Science and Information Technology” presented their own projects during an open lecture for the course “Software Project Management.” The students developed projects in various directions, taking into account current relevance in today’s conditions. From January 27 to January 31, 2025 Teachers of the Department of Statistics, IT and Mathematical Methods in Economics – PhD, Associate Professor of the Department Oleksandr Stavytskyi and Senior Lecturer Stanislav Savchenko – took part in the “Teachers Smart Up: Winter Edition 2025” event organized by Sigma Software. During the course, teachers got acquainted with modern approaches to teaching IT disciplines, received practical knowledge on the introduction of the latest technologies in the educational process and learned about effective teaching methods. The program covered topics such as soft skills, critical thinking and cross-cultural communication, which are relevant for preparing students to meet the contemporary challenges of the IT industry.
