International Online Conference “New Year’s Meeting of Peace Educators HWPL 2025”
On February 8, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Law and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, PhD, Head of the Legal Clinic “Lawyers without borders” at the NASAA Yuliia Bogdan and Head of the Department of International Cooperation, Associate Professor, PhD Olena Motuzka took part in the International Online Conference “New Year’s Meeting of Peace Educators HWPL 2025,” organized by the international peace organization HWPL under the UN Department of Global Communications. The purpose of the conference was to unite the efforts of education representatives from around the world to develop education during wartime in accordance with today’s challenges. More than 700 participants joined the conference.

People Are the Key
The “Lawyers Without Borders” Legal Clinic joined an action dedicated to supporting Kremlin prisoners. The event was organized by the Center for Civil Liberties. It took place on February 20, 2025, at the Independence Square. The date was chosen symbolically, because on this day in 2014 there were mass executions of activists, and russia began the annexation of Crimea, which marked the beginning of the war against Ukraine. The purpose of the action was to draw attention to the problem of prisoners of war illegally detained by russia, civilian hostages, deported Ukrainian children and political prisoners. We emphasize: people are not just numbers, people are key! The slogan of the action “People are the key” emphasizes that people are the most valuable.

National Olympiad of Legal Clinics on Client Counseling
On February 20-22, 2025, the annual National Olympiad of Legal Clinics on Client Counseling took place in Ostroh at the National University of “Ostroh Academy.” The team of the legal clinic “Lawyers Without Borders” of the Academy was represented by Maksym Labuz, a 2nd-year student majoring in “Law,” Karolina Katasonova, a 2nd-year student majoring in “Law,” and Yulia Bohdan, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Law and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines, PhD in Law, head of the legal clinic “Lawyers Without Borders” at NASOA. This year’s theme of the National Olympiad was “Consumer Rights Contracts.” The competition was conducted in the form of modeling client counseling, providing assistance, and legal case analysis. The Olympiad is held exclusively in English. The competition took place in three stages: quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals. This experience is extremely important and motivates clinical students to deepen their professional knowledge and English language proficiency.

Memorandum of Cooperation with the Public Organization “Centre of Law Enforcement Activities Research” (CLEAR)
The National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Audit has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Public Organization “Centre of Law Enforcement Activities Research” (CLEAR). The Memorandum was signed by Oleksandr Osaulenko, Rector of the Academy, and Artem Moroz, Board Member and Commander of the 241st Territorial Defense Forces brigade unit, representing the PO. The signing was also attended by Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Law and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, PhD, Head of the Legal Clinic “Lawyers without Borders” NASAA Yuliia Bogdan; Head of the International Cooperation Department, PhD, Associate Professor Olena Motuzka. The signed Memorandum aims to implement joint projects in the field of legal clinical movement, legal and social protection of the population in Ukraine.
