Traditionally, Ukraine honors the memory of Taras Shevchenko in March.
As part of the Shevchenko Days celebrations, members of the student society “SICH” organized an online discussion platform “Taras Shevchenko and Contemporary Times.” The event featured musical works by Taras Shevchenko, a video about the life and work of the Kobzar, and students presented interesting projects. It was especially pleasant to hear extraordinarily patriotic and convincing thoughts from the students. The head of the department, PhD Maryna Goriunova, was present at the event and noted that engaging young people in studying history and reading literature is possible by relying on the relevance of Taras Shevchenko’s works and his personality in general, as it inspires and motivates people to fight and believe in Victory!
The source of unity and struggle for freedom today is undoubtedly the Shevchenko-inspired understanding of Ukraine’s destiny by the people!
The event moderator was Nataliia Didenko, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages.
